36 Days of Type

Typography

This was my fourth year in a row of participating in the challenge created by Treintayseis Studio, 36 Days of Type is a yearly open call inviting creatives to share their depictions of letters and digits from the Latin alphabet in any way they choose to express them.

For the 2023 edition, I wanted to design an alphabet that had a sense of machinery with abstract roots, which was heavily inspired by sculptures and architectural forms. To keep things fresh, I was experimental with each letter & number to see how distinctive I could make each form compared to the rest going forward. I tend not to rely on too many colours as I felt that the 3D abstract shapes already set the industrial visual language in stone.

The number 9 that I designed got featured on the official @36daysoftype Instagram account.
